Have fun planning your reward/vacation to ?????

BTW, any time you feel nostalgic for winter, just find the pics you posted a few years ago where you were snowed in. But I certainly do understand the bewilderment to mind and body when the temps do not match the calendar. Yesterday, we were at 57F and I was a very happy camper.

I'm still waiting for confirmation of the booking, but if everything gets set I'm going to be doing 2 days in Toronto, 4 days on the sleeper train across Canada, 2 days in Vancouver, and 7 days on a cruise up to Alaska and back to Vancouver. I've never been anywhere up north except Toronto, so I'm excited. Crossed fingers that nothing goes wrong in booking :)

OMG. Imagine all the shades of green that add up to my envy.

Don't be too surprised that the train may pass through some of the most breathtaking scenery when it's the Dead. Of. Night. I know. Marketing fail. But just the sybaritic lethargy of it all seems so restorative to the soul.

I don't know what you have planned for Vancouver (and two days is cutting it short); however, if you have a couple of hours (round trip) to catch a regular city bus to Capilano Canyon in North Vancouver, you should (if you're not fearful of heights). Walking across the suspension bridge (I kept going back and forth) was exhilarating. Now they've also added an Edgewalk to a cliff face. Look for pics on the web.

We now return you to my regularly-scheduled dose of envy for the Alaska cruise. [I have friends currently going through Panama and it is so unbearably hot. Ugh. I'd rather imagine all the fresh cool air of the PNW.]
